Melon is monoecious herb with fruit of round or oval form. Fruit size up to 30 cm in diameter, and fruit weight up to 15 kg. The ripe fruit is eaten raw, not ripe are conserved and seeds consumed roasted. Melons are rich in glucose and vitamins, increases vitality of man. Melons are consumed fresh, jam is prepared out of them in the summer pulp is dried. Today more than 160 varieties of melons grow in Uzbekistan.
